I'm heading out to Anime Boston tomorrow afternoon! I'm so excited! This will be my first anime convention and I think it shall be fantastic! It doesn't actually start until Friday but I'm heading to boston to pick up my pre-registration tomorrow afternoon   Ah I can't wait! I'm so excited to see all the cosplayers, artists alley, and attend the three raves over the weekend! Also I turn 18 next week, so being allowed to attend Anime Boston with my boyfriend unsupervised for 4 days is my birthday present! <3 I hope it's as fantastic as everyone tells me

Utrecht Scares Me TToTT I went into Boston yesterday with my family loaded up with ALL of my Christmas and leftover birthday money to buy supplies at Utrecht. I had one $50 dollar gift card and the $120 dollars I'd saved. I picked out a reasonably sized amount of supplies. Some tubes of oil paint, 1 set of 4 brushes, disposable palette, 1 sketchbook, 1 small jar of medium, and a canvas.... The grand total rang up to TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY NINE DOLLARS! O_O My Dad and I nearly had heart attacks...

I frantically began putting things back to lower the total. I came away with a jar of medium, far fewer tubes of paint, 1 tiny canvas, and the set of brushes. I was thinking to myself "Okay I'll definitely have a bit of my money left after this. It's okay, calm down. You'll probably have at least twenty or forty dollars left," in my head. I only had the materials that were absolutely necessary for me to keep painting.

The final price tag equaled One Hundred and Sixty Nine Dollars.... Part of me died inside after paying for the supplies. I still can't understand how one tiny pile of supplies could cost so much. I was in tears afterwards and tempted to just return everything.

I have never in my life had to have that much money disappear before my very eyes in one go. That was all of my savings. Needless to say. Utrecht now terrifies me...

From now on I'm buying my Damn Supplies online where it's cheaper, and the prices are well marked. Nothing in the store had fucking price tags! There was no way for me to see this coming and calculate the cost as I was adding tubes of paints to my plastic basket! I never want to buy supplies in person again.........

I just don't understand how a 37ml tube of oil paint could cost $24.50!

I recently logged back into my DA account after nearly a year of leaving it completely alone to fend for itself. I glanced at my old work from roughly a year and a half ago and cringed. All 3 pieces have been moved to scraps. I am now working to upload my most recent work from my art portfolio which I applied to art college with. I also intend to upload sketchbook work and personal pieces more frequently if I can. I also dislike my old journal entries so I'm writing a new one. I just want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Hello everyone!
I figured my last journal entry was wicked old, so I decided to make a new one. I don't have much to say really. I finally decided I'm going to get off my butt and attempt to submit some work. My art has changed a crap ton since I last added anything to DA a few months ago and I'm getting very sick of looking at my old work. So at some point, hopefully soon, I'll upload some current work. My dear friend dwegee-fish.deviantart.com/ wants me to get off my butt and post some things too. So that's what I'm going to attempt to do On a random side note. I absolutely love spring! I'm so glad that the snow has melted and that normal sunny weather has returned. Don't get me wrong, I love winter and snow is one of my favorite things. But nothing beats being able to walk around outside in a tee-shirt, sit in a grassy area and draw, or hang out with friends around town. I have missed the warm rays of sunlight combined with blue skyed breezy days. I love them. I also love that all the plants are beginning to turn green again, and that the birds are returning. The other morning I was ecstatic  to see two mourning doves sitting on my garage. I love seeing and hearing all the birds returning to the area. Well that's all for now. Other than that, I have only one thing to say. "I'm so unbelievably happy that I can't even believe it myself."

Well to sum up summer as of late. It is as boring as can be. Today I made a peach cobbler, and I thought it turned out rather well, but then just as my family was about to eat it we realized there had been toxic oven cleaner in the oven when I cooked it. As a result no one wished to try my cobbler, to avoid being food poisoned. D: But on the bright side my parents just recently bought a new Cherry Red Mustang to replace our old clunker of a van. There goes my childhood Its definitely one of the coolest cars I've ever been in, and I'm going to start learning how to drive soon so I can't wait to try it out ( if my parents will allow it). OH! BUT I LOVE MURO!!!!! Im so happy that DA came out with a digital drawing tool! I personally don't own any digital art software at the moment (not even MS Paint) so this is a big plus. Hopefully I'll be able to upload something even half way decent after some practice with it. That's all for now! ^_^ Ciao!
